Some history

Farm houses, such as ours, are numerous in the region, and date back from the XVIth century, when the Dukes of Lorraine promoted agriculture through a decree of accessment.

The soil was found poor and acid, and only oat and rye can be cultivated. Fortunately the help received by the dukes was a great incentive.

It twas Pierre Guillaume from Darney who cultivated the actual farm « Grange Jacquot », and decided to build a small house and a farm house for the labourers. It was agreed in 1535.

The land was owned by some cultivators aound, and many different farmers worked on the land. In 1614, there were 3 families living there. But during the 1657/58 wars, the place was destroyed during the 30 years war. In 1668/69, only one person was living there.

The farm house « La Grange Jacquot » takes its actual name in 1757.
